Amsterdam
Though the reputation of Amsterdam as a city of tolerance with a taste of
sin precedes it, the city is equally renowned by its scenic
and cultural venues. Amsterdam’s hotels are clean and hospitable,
the restaurants are great and the city streets are a paradise for
shoppers. This unique mix makes visitors return to the city again
and again. Amsterdam has a creative and relaxed atmosphere. The city
has lots of museums and concert halls along with avant-garde theater
and dance spots. Amsterdam has a number of beautiful tree-lined
canals, which are bordered by rows of narrow gabled houses, making
the city architecturally awesome. Amsterdam is much smaller than
many other European capitals so it’s entirely walkable. Locals widely
use bicycles for transportation.
The climate of Amsterdam is generally mild but changeable throughout
the year. It can be windy in the winter though the snow is rare.
The summer is warm and at the same time is rarely hot, but can be
very humid at times. Amsterdam is a damp city and it rains frequently,
often unexpectedly. The best way to explore the city is on foot.
Public transportation is also a good alternative. Affordable buses,
trams and trains can deliver you to any point in the city. Daily
passes for public transportation are available, along with multiride
strip tickets. At the same time, we don't recommend you to bring
your car in Amsterdam because it could be a burden.
